“When elected to public office as a councilman, and later as Highway Superintendent, I promised as a public servant that I would keep the lines of communication open with my fellow residents,” Paganelli said.
“Recognizing the significance of the internet and social media in today’s world, I am launching a campaign that is aimed at narrowing the lines of communication between the department and the town residents," said Paganelli. "It will allow us to streamline the alerting of residents to road work, weather emergencies and detours. The site will allow residents to report issues and concerns directly to the department, while also allowing the department to address these concerns in a more timely fashion than previously. Basically, we are trying to move the department into the twenty first century.”
The new site will display information on Yorktown's Organic Waste Yard in addition to highway related news.
The new site is currently online at www.yorktownhighway.org.
The Highway Department has also launched new social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
